Vintage Chinese Export Silver Gilt Pendant Squirrel Holding Pearl Nut, Unusual

  

For your consideration, an adorable and unusual vintage Chinese export silver gilt pendant of a squirrel holding a pearl "nut", likely early to mid 20th century. The pendant is sterling silver with a vibrant gold wash and is set with a drilled freshwater pearl bead. The piece is in overall good condition with mild wear and tarnishing (I have not attempted to clean it to avoid wear to the gold wash and the pearl).

Pictured in the last two pics with a 14K chain to demonstrate how it pairs well with real gold. Measures 9/16 of an inch in height not including bail, 15/16 of an inch in width, and weighs 3.8 grams.
