Vintage Chinese Export Silver Enamel Gilt Gold Musical Instrument Brooch Pendant

EXQUISITE CHINESE SILVER GILT GOLD & ENAMEL BROOCH / PENDANT. Presenting an exceptionally fine vintage Chinese export silver and enamel brooch / pendant masterfully handcrafted into the shape of a traditional Chinese stringed musical instrument. This exquisite piece has been expertly handcrafted with an exceptional attention to detail with a wonderfully fine and intricate design. The head of the instrument has been masterfully formed into the shape of a horses head with two tuning pegs decorated with rope twist detailing appearing to the top sides of the long neck.

The neck and body of the instrument feature a finely woven textured surface which beautifully contrasts the smooth, gilt gold sides and back. Finely worked floral cloisonne designs spectacularly coloured with rich turquoise blue and red enamel, beautifully adorn the body of the instrument.

Two fine threads of gilt silver form the delicate strings. This exceptionally intricate piece has been crafted in Chinese silver and beautifully finished with a thick quality gilt gold layer.

This is a wonderfully versatile piece which can be worn as a brooch or pendant. The original pin with safety c-clasp is in fine and secure working order, while the original bale to suspend the pendant to a necklace remains in place. SIZE: This impressive piece measures 52mms in length x 15.5mms in width. CONDITION: This stunning example is presented in magnificent vintage condition with no breaks, losses or repairs. Both the gilt gold finish and the enamel are in immaculate condition as are the fine strings. This piece has been exceptionally well cared for and presents spectacularly.
