Unusual Chinese Carved Cinnabar on Gilt Silver Box, Cloisonne Lid

  
This listing is for an unusual Chinese carved Cinnabar over silver box with Cloisonne on silver lid from the second half of the 20th Century. The box resembles five carved cinnabar bangle bracelets laid horizontally over the gilded silver interior body. The lid has a textured background with the cloisonne design applied in pastel turquoise and lavender enamels with turquoise an cobalt leaves encircling the carved round cinnabar bead that forms the lid. The silver lid, interior and base are gilded with the base marked "Silver". The box sits on three circular 1/2 ball feet. Measures 4 3/4" high to top of finial with a top diameter of 2 5/8 and base diameter of approximately 3". This nice box is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. The gilding on the rim of the box as well as the box's interior and bottom have various degrees of tarnish which we have left as found.
